In short: you keep ownership of your performance. You give the Akwa Ibom State Government permission to use your submitted recording to run, broadcast and promote the Christmas Carol Night. You are credited. Media featuring anyone under 18 is only ever published where specific consent was recorded at enrolment.
Ownership
You retain all ownership of your performance and of the recording you submit. Nothing in this licence transfers copyright to the State. Where you perform an existing work, this licence covers your performance of it and does not affect the rights of the underlying composer or publisher.
The licence you grant
By submitting an entry you grant the Akwa Ibom State Government a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce, broadcast, stream, publicly perform and adapt your submitted recording, and excerpts of it, for the purposes set out below.
Scope of use
The licence covers:
- Adjudicating and administering the Programme.
- Broadcasting and streaming the Christmas Carol Night.
- Promoting this and future editions of the Programme across State media, social media and press.
- Archival and reporting purposes within the State Government.
The licence does not permit the sale of your performance as a standalone commercial product, nor its licensing to a third party for that purpose, without your separate written agreement. [Scope boundaries — TBC by Ministry legal team.]
Content featuring minors
Any media featuring a person under 18 is published only where the specific parental or guardian consent recorded at enrolment permits publication. Where that consent was not given, or is later withdrawn, the material is withheld from publication and removed from any Programme channel the State controls.
Photographs of minors captured as identity evidence are never published, and are never shared with adjudicators. This is set out further in the Privacy Notice.
Attribution
Where your performance is published, you are credited by the entry name recorded on your Portal profile, unless you ask in writing for that credit to be withheld.
Duration
The licence runs from submission and continues for as long as the State needs it for the purposes above, including archival. You may withdraw a performance from future promotional use by writing to the Programme Secretariat; this does not require the State to recall material already broadcast or printed.
